I am almost sure the most of us have heard about the concept kpop, also known as korean pop, so I am here today to show you the group I stan the most. B L A C K P I N K
On August 8th 2016 a new kpop girl group was born under the company YG consisting of four beautiful girls with each of their own personalities and skills. Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie, who have since then continued to gain popularity not only in South Korea, but mostly internationally. Let me give you just two reasons why.
1. Name, concept and social media
The name Blackpink consists of two colors, black and pink, which refers to the two sides of their concepts. Black being the more edgy, hardcore and wild side, which their entertainment company YG is widely known for, where pink refers to the more flowery, girly and cute style both in music and their MV's. This gives the group not only a unique name, but an opportunity to mix these styles together into their own identity. And if you are a fan you have the opportunity to call yourself a blink. You never know what to expect. Blackpink recently had a comeback with their new album Square Up, and finally began their own personal Instagram account where we can follow them on their adventures. Many companies have strict rules as regarding diet, social media and such, and some may argue YG Entertainment is one of the strictest, but being amongst the few big groups with access to social media it gives something to their popularity. In less than 3 months Lisa as an example has over seven million Instagram followers.

2. Members and nationalities
Despite their bubbly personalities and different compencies, it is clear their nationalities and language skills gives them a definite advantage in relation to international fame.
The first members introduced to the group was Jennie, also nicknamed Jendeukie amongst other things, has spent five years of her life in New Zealand prior to being born in South Korea, which gives her the ability to speak English on a native level. Jennie is the lead dancer and main vocalist.
The second member introduced to the group is the rapper and excellent dancer, Lisa, who was born in Thailand. She was only one to pass the audition when YG was seeking trainess in Bangkok, 2010. This meant she had to start learning an entire new language from the day she arrived in South Korea, Lisa has shed light on this experience before, and thanked her members for helping her. Lisa can also speak English.
The third member is Jisoo, who is known for her good looks (face of the group, visual) and her stunning vocals (main vocalist). Jisoo was born in South Korea, but can also conversate in Chinese. When you see Blackpink doings broadcasts or tv shows Jisoo will sometimes say a word or two in English, and with the help and all the encouraging from her members, blinks believe she is better than she is, but needs confidence in speaking English. I am sure she will conquer that fear.
Rosé, the last member to be revealed, was raised in Australia and moved back to South Korea in 2012, which means she is excellent in English and has the cutest accent out there. While Lisa had to start from the bottom of learning Korea, Rosé had learned it from her parents, which means Lisa actually is slightly better at speaking Korean than Rosé. Rosé is known for her sweet vocal as main vocalist and sharp moves as the lead dancer.
In addition all the members can speak Japanese, which help them even further when they are on tour in Japan. In the end the entire group draws people in from the entire world.
This was just two reasons why their popularity is skyrocketing these past years, there are many more. I suggest you check out their newest comeback here
